Description

The Material Texture Loader is a 3ds Max script designed to streamline the process of loading textures, creating materials, and applying them to scenes. It automatically detects texture types based on filenames (e.g., albedo, specular, normal) and assigns them to the correct material slots. Supporting specular and metallic workflows, the script links parameters like color, reflection, glossiness, IOR, and mapping types while allowing real-time adjustments.

This tool enables instant material creation, offering tri-planar, random, and spherical mapping, along with UDIM support and advanced map setups. Users can tweak per-channel settings such as gamma, color space (ACEScg, sRGB, Raw), blur, rotation, and strength. Live updates ensure that any changes to textures, maps, or material parameters are reflected immediately, enhancing workflow efficiency.

Compatible with 3ds Max 2016-2025, the script supports materials for V-Ray, Corona, Redshift, Arnold, FStorm, Octane, and PBR shaders. Users can apply materials with UVW and displacement modifiers, save them to libraries, and generate thumbnails. By linking cropping and UVW settings across all textures, the script is particularly useful for atlas textures, significantly speeding up the PBR material creation process.
